Installing Luxury Vinyl Tile Has
Never Been Easier
New, one-sided spray adhesive is break through technology.
Are you tired of installing LVT only to find gapping or cupping after
installation? A new, solvent-based adhesive specifically designed
to minimize these problems is now available in an easy to use, portable
spray system.
VersaTILE™ is formulated to be a multi-purpose industrial adhesive
that has high strength, high temperature tolerance, and a high tacking
capability. This adhesive is ideal for vinyl tile, carpet, wall coverings,
fabrics, metals, and general construction. One-sided application from
a self-contained aerosol system allows for quick and easy installation,
with minimal dry time and easy
clean up.
With Westech’s lifetime permanent live tack, this adhesive will
not become brittle over time, so removal of damaged tiles is easy.
By using a heat gun to melt the adhesive, the damaged tile can be
peeled up and replaced with an additional recharging spray of new
adhesive. VersaTILE™ is also available in handheld aerosol cans
that are the perfect size for small repair jobs.
Westech’s VersaTILE™ was tested to an independent vinyl
manufacturer’s specifications. OSB boards measuring 16 inches
x 36 inches were cut in half and butted together at the factory edges
to create a typical joint in plank installation. All products were
stored at 70 degrees before and during testing. The OSB boards were
sprayed with VersaTILE™ and the LVT was laid down and rolled
with a 70 lb. roller to ensure a strong bond.

After the installions were performed, measurements were taken of the
joints before any exposure to extreme temperatures. The products were
allowed to set and cure for 48 hours after the installation. The OSB
boards were then placed in an oven set to 155 degrees and left for
two hours. After this time, the boards were removed and allowed to
cool to room temperature (approximately 74 degrees). After re-acclimation
to room temperature, the joints were again measured to check for gapping
or separation.
